2015 NHL Mock Draft

With one more day until the 2015 National Hockey League Draft, many questions remain as to who will be going where.

What we do know is that top-rated prospect, and generational talent, Connor McDavid will be going to the Edmonton Oilers with the first overall pick in the draft. The Buffalo Sabres, selecting second, will take the other generational-type talent available in Jack Eichel.

After McDavid and Eichel, the Arizona Coyotes have the first pick of the next crop of talent that follows.

The next group of players after McEichel have the potential to become top players in the league in their respected position. Dylan Strome, Mitch Marner, and Noah Hanifin headline this group of players, but players like Lawson Crouse, Ivan Provorov, and Pavel Zacha are in the mix as well.

Of the 30 teams in the NHL, six of them have two picks in the first round of the draft. Those teams are the Arizona Coyotes, Buffalo Sabres, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Winnipeg Jets.

The only teams in the NHL that do not have a pick in the first round in the draft are the Chicago Blackhawks, Nashville Predators, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, and the St. Louis Blues.

But the order in which teams are selecting could change on a dime. One team could trade up in the draft to acquire a player who they believe can be an asset to the future of the organization.

Other trades could happen where a team could trade its pick to acquire a player, or players, who is already established in the NHL. We saw it two years ago where the Devils traded the ninth overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft to Vancouver in exchange for goaltender Cory Schneider.

A couple of days ago, you saw the list of the top 100 NHL prospects right here on Better Live Than Dead Sports. Where do these prospects actually land, and who will take a chance on these players?

Here is my final mock draft for the 2015 NHL Draft from picks 1 through 51, where the Sabres have four selections in that span (2nd, 21st, 31st, 51st).
